TOPS WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS - 11/12/18
Quote of the Week: “Progress of the best kind is comparatively slow. Great results cannot be achieved at once; and we must be satisfied to advance in life as we walk, step by step." Samuel Smiles
Happy birthday, Christopher, Oisin, Mitchell, Coach Amy, Coach Kathy, and Colin!!
*Congratulations to our TOPS swimmers and divers for great meet against PVAC, this past Friday and Saturday.
*Our next dual meet is this weekend vs. Pennridge.
-As we have asked in previous weeks, if your swimmer cannot attend the dual meet, this Saturday, please email the coaches via the large orange button on our website titled CONTACT TOPS, by Tuesday evening.
TOPS Divers contact Coach Kristine.
-We have already received some emails about swimmers’ absence. Thank you for being on top of it, parents!!
First, thank you to all the parents who got their kiddos to the dual meets on time, and for those who stepped forward to volunteer.
Special SHOUT OUTS go:
-Cheryl Loshnowsky for heading the bake table, even though her daughter cannot swim.
-Becky Zajac for coming to officiate the girls’ meet even though her daughter cannot swim.
-Nicole D’Amico for stepping forward at the boys’ meet, though she was not committed to volunteer.
We are sure that there are other examples of SHOUT OUTS, of which are not mentioned here. Our apologies, but also our thanks.
*It was awesome seeing our swimmers in their black suits and all with their TOPS caps.
*We did have caps, particularly at the girls’ meet, which we sold to the swimmers due to not having a cap, the cap ripped, or needing a new one. The names were taken and sent to our team treasurer, Cheryl Loshnowsky.
*We need to look at a swim meet like your swimmer is in school. They are in class, and they can only come to you upon dismissal. That dismissal, for our dual meets, is after our team cheer. Swimmers are NOT to go to the parents during the meet, hang out in the hallways, or go in the balcony area. This was stated in the last email.
*Parents, if you are not volunteering for the dual meet, then you are not to be on deck and coming to get your swimmer during the dual meet. They should have all they need for the dual meet. They should have had a good meal prior to coming to the meet, and they should have nutritious snacks in their swim bag. No cooler is needed.
*Please have your swimmer come back and help clean up the area, and take inventory of their belongings prior to leaving. We must be good guest and grateful hosts.
*Some people are still communicating through the old website. We will no longer respond to those emails.
*We are hosting the Pennridge dive meet, this Friday, at The Hill School.
*Due to this, we will not have swim practice, this Friday at the Hill School. Those swimmers have off for the evening.
*The Pottstown Athletic Facility is still closed this week for repair.
Therefore; Monday evening, at The Perkiomen School, practice for Pottstown Athletic swimmers (TOPS 1 and 2) will be offered from 6- 7 p.m.
