TOPS WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS- 12/9/18
QUOTE OF THE WEEK: “Be committed to process without be emotionally attached to the results.” Hal Elrod
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Tyler, Jackson, Evan, and Emma.
What can we say? The meets were super competitive and our swimmers stepped up to ‘the block’ so to speak.
*We are thankful to the Perk School for providing us what is needed to host a meet. They provided us with tables for our bake and scorer’s table, chairs and benches for our guests, and were there to help us with anything that we would need.
*We are thankful to all who helped set up, clean up, worked the bake table (ts hard being away from all the action), and all those who helped on deck. at the boys’ meet. Yes, it is a bit crowded, but we are thankful for your flexibility and understanding.
*Thank you to all those who helped at the girls’ meet. Thank you for helping get our swimmers ready, and were there to support our swimmers at the block.
*Thank you to our swimmers who did an excellent job, yesterday. They had fantastic competition and rose to the challenge. Our boys’ won the swimming portion of the meet, but lost overall. Our boy divers, unfortunately, were not available to dive for us on Friday night, due to school obligations.
*Our girls won the meet by 6 points! We are thankful to our two divers who represented TOPS on Friday night. Without their participation, the end result may have been different. As with the boys, our swimmers had excellent competition and rose to the challenge.
*We had some swimmers swim back to back; some swim off events in order to have a time for every event, and some swim coming off an injury/sickness. In spite of these differences ALL gave their best. Thank you!
*Our next dual meet is January 5th, and our opponent is unknown. As soon as we know, we will forward the information.
*In the next two dual meets, we will recognize our Senior Swimmers. Below is who we have identified as our graduating senior swimmers.
Lilia Crew, Ella Greenholt, Aaron Keifer, Grace McKee, Michael McNeill, Anna Pealock, Jennifer Zajac
Are we missing anyone? Are any of the above not correct? Please confirm with Coach Catherine through firstname.lastname@example.org, this week.
SAL has a Scholarship available for graduating SAL swimmers. This is the first year in which some of our swimmers are fully eligible to apply.
*Must be currently enrolled as a high school senior and planning on attending post-secondary school within one year following the award.
*Applicants must be a current season registered SAL swimmer or diver with a contribution of at least three years of swimming or diving for SAL during their four years of high school.
Please see the attached form for completion and follow the directions for submission. Deadline is January 2nd- 11:59 p.m.

OJR High School Pottstown Cluster Drive
Supporting the community is important and helps keep our involvement in swimming in perspective.
Our swimmers come from various school districts, and participate on different HS swim teams.
The OJRHS swim team is collecting items for the Pottstown Cluster. Versus hosting our own drive, we can support their drive.
Attached is the flyer citing items needed. There will be a bag, at the Pottstown Athletic Center and the Perk School, for collecting items for the Pottstown Cluster. This collection goes through Dec. 20th.
Thank you, in advance, for supporting the Pottstown Cluster.
*See your email for flyer.
*Information, via email, from Cathy Horner (Mallory Horner’s mother), will come your way about a team social activity at the 422 Complex on December 30th.
*Fundraising item: Information will be forwarded about a homemade TOPS Ornament for purchase. A HUGE thank you to Brigid Lyman.
*We do not have access to The Hill School this week, therefore, adjustments will be made at Perk and Pottstown. The practice schedule will be sent in a separate email and posted on the website.
We thank you for your understanding and flexibility in dealing with this unforeseen situation at The Hill School. We are doing the best we can to minimize any hardship this scheduling may cause our families.
