TOPS WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS - 1/27/19
QUOTE OF THE WEEK: “Feel the present. Hold the vision. Let go of the resistance. Enjoy the journey. Trust the process.” Frederick Talloen
B CHAMPS- We had a large TOPS representation at the B Championships. Our swimmers showed growth in technique (which is most important) and many experienced time drops. Coaches noted what the swimmers are doing well and identified areas we will continue to focus.
*North Penn has forwarded the results from the Girls’ B champs, and they have been imported into our team website. You should be able to see your swimmer’s results through your Parent Portal. As soon as the Boys’ B Champs results are sent to us, we will import, and then you, too, can see your swimmer’s results via the Parent Portal.*We hope that the swimmers had a great time. They were positive and ready to swim.
We are thankful to our parents, who helped countless times this season, yet stepped forward, once again, to help. *Thank you, Bolding, Lucas, Garner, Pulcher, Moffa (both sessions at both locations!!!), Tex, Olinick, Fisher, Souder, Lacock, Catron, Sherrick, Ognissanti, Claffey, Tighe Karaffa, Rohrbaugh, Budroni, Lear, Cooper, and Williams).*If we overlooked anyone, please accept our apologies and our sincere thanks for supporting us.
Yesterday, at the Girls’ Champs, our team was recognized as bringing the most goods for their community service effort. *WAY to go, TOPS!
For our swimmers who are not swimming in ‘A’ Champs and/or not swimming USA, you have a well-deserved break. During this break we encourage our swimmers to stay physically active. That can be participating in another sport or doing some basic dryland (e.g. planks, wall sits, push-ups, as well as, stretching). These simple dryland exercises will help with technique, body control, and strength in the water.
We have *twenty-six girls and twenty-two boys who will be representing TOPS at A Champs, which will be held at LaSalle University on February 3rd.
We need the LaSalle University SAL Champs waiver signed by participating swimmers and their parents. Parents, you can sign on your swimmer’s paper. We are asking that all waivers be brought to practice by Feb. 2nd. The swimmer will be unable to swim if the waiver is not signed.
*An email will be forthcoming concerning A Champs.
*For the swimmers who will be swimming at ‘A’ Champs, you have practice, this week.
*For those who are not swimming USA, this will be your final week of training, and then you, too, will have a well-deserved break.
*We have assessed the following for our practice location, this week, and our remaining weeks:
1) Number of remaining swimmers
2) Training facility of the remaining swimmers
3) Pool availability
*Our data reveals that training at the Pottstown Athletic facility is best. We apologize if this causes any hardship, but we hope that our families can help each other with carpooling, etc.
