YEAR END GIFTS- For those who were not able to make it to our Season Ending Celebration, you were missed.A HUGE thank you to Cheryl Loshnowsky for going above and beyond and contacting families and arranging pick up of team gift, etc. If you have not been contacted, please inform us by emailing us (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Coach Nikki participates in a camp (Camp Courage) in Haiti every summer. She brings the love of swimming to the young people in Haiti. As you know, Haiti is a very poor country, and having a bathing suit is a luxury. Therefore, to support Coach Nikki’s Camp Courage, we will be collecting GENTLY USED or NEW bathing suits for children. We will collect at each training location. THANK YOU, in advance for your support.
We concluded our first week of Spring Clinic. Our focus was on Freestyle, flutter kicking, streamlines, starts, and dryland. This week we will be focusing on the other long axis stroke, backstroke.
We adhere to USA Swimming guidelines.
1)Parents cannot go into the swimmer locker rooms. Please make sure your swimmer can independently get ready for practice and independently get ready to head home.
2)Parents are not allowed on deck during practice. If you need to speak to a coach, we will be happy to meet with you before or after the clinic practice.
3)We will be reminding our swimmers that no photos or video are to be taken in the locker room area.
CONGRATULATIONS TO LILIA CREW for she will be attending Monmouth University in the fall where she will be studying Marine Biology and Environmental Science.
The All-Area Boys’ Swimming was recently posted. Congratulations to ALL our TOPS swimmers who contributed to their respective HS swim team with their time, talent, commitment, and points.
*We know that they posted the All-Area Girls’ Team, but we are unable to locate it. If someone has access to it, or has the article, please email us via email@example.com. We would appreciate it. We will share this information in next week’s Weekly Announcements.
There have been changes to the recruiting process for D1 schools. Swimming is impacted by the change. These new rules take effect on May 1, 2019. See your email with the attached articles concerning these changes and important dates.
*You will need to register with NCAA (Eligibility Center) before you begin the process with Division 1 and Division 2 schools. You do not need to register for NCAA eligibility for Division 3 Schools, though you can create a profile page. There is a one-time fee ($75.00).
Creating a profile on *College Swimming is free. It is an additional avenue to store your swim data, above and beyond the SWIMS Database. You may input HS dual meet times, Club dual meet times, and Invitational times, for they are not recognized by USA Swims Database.
