TOPS WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS - 6/4/19
WHAT’S ON DECK WITH TOPS?
Everyone is now dipping their toes in the water at their respective summer swim club team practices. Have fun and we look forward to seeing everyone at the dual meets, this summer.
Our next big fundraiser is our golf outing scheduled for October 13th at Macoby Run Golf Course. Please put this on your calendar!
SUBURBAN AQUATIC LEAGUE
The Suburban Aquatic League has a new website. Same address but different platform. FYI.
Thinking ahead to next season, this summer season is a perfect opportunity to try out timing, stroke and turn, and scorer’s table.
- If your son or daughter is participating in the Tri-County Swim League, why not think about Stroke and Turn? There will be a meeting for those interested in Stroke and Turn, this Wed. evening at 7:00 p.m. at North End Pool Club in Pottstown.
- For each team, I am sure that you can shadow at the scorer’s table and they will be happy to train.
- In the Tri-County league, this summer, there will be no volunteer place judges. Therefore, timers’ roles are more crucial in order to provide the most honest finish for the swimmers.
Summer is a perfect time to try out timing. There will be three timers in per lane, with a back–up timer available if you missed hitting your watch. You have a lot of support.
We will need to provide timers at both the boys’ and girls’ SAL dual meets, as well as, some USA meets, next season.
Thank you to all who donated suits to Camp Courage during our Spring Clinic! It is a great beginning to the suit collection needed. We are confident that those receiving the suits will be very appreciative.
Throughout the summer, if you find that you have a spare suit, in good condition, which you are not using, please put it aside and you can bring to an invite, OR you can email about your donation through firstname.lastname@example.org. Also needed, goggles.
This is a really neat article, written by Elizabeth Wickham from SwimSwam.
