What needs to be in place for the first dual meet?
SWIMMERS* will need:
*Royal Blue suit
*TOPS Cap (for our newer swimmers, they should be in your family folder- for those needing a new cap, the order should be in shortly).
*Spirit wear- Swimmers are not to wear spirit wear of other swim teams (HS, Summer, or previous team)

PARENTS
*We need officials for boys’ meet and girls’ meet. Please see the SAL Stroke and Turn Clinics, below. No previous officiating experience or swim experience is necessary.

*Please sign up for a Volunteer position via the Parent Portal – right hand banner. It is essential that we have parental support. Unfortunately, swimming is not a sport in which parents can sit and relax each and every meet, much like soccer, lacrosse, football, etc. Our swimmers rely on volunteers. We thank you, in advance, for supporting our swimmers.

*Please refer to the SAL tab for arrival time and location for your swimmer’s first dual meet in order to help you with planning.

*Parents of our younger swimmers – please prepare your swimmer, to be on deck with his/her teammates, without parental support. Aside from those volunteering on deck, parents will not be allowed on deck or in the swimmer locker room.

*All swimmers are expected to stay for the whole meet. Swimmers are not to leave after their events. We are a team, and as a team, we stay to support each other. The meet concludes with a team cheer.
*Parents, wear your team spirit wear. We have many options on our Swim Outlet team affiliate page. It can be accessed by clicking on the icon on our team website.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: “You aren’t going to find anybody that’s going to be successful without making a sacrifice and without perseverance.” Lou Holtz

REGISTRATION FOR THE 2019 – 2020 TOPS SWIM SEASON IS NOW CLOSED.

TOPS FIRST GOLF TOURNAMENT

A HUGE thank you to Brian Stoudt and our board for spearheading this inaugural golf event.

This fundraising efforts is a means to be ready to meet a need for more pools in our area.
As shared at the parent meeting, USA Swimming, Middle Atlantic, ASCA, ISCA, and other swimming bodies acknowledge the need for more pools; and we feel it, most acutely, in southeastern PA.

As Brian Stoudt shared in a previous email, we are VERY THANKFUL to all those who contributed to this fundraising effort. You are supporting not only TOPS, but the future of this sport, in this area.
Thank you! Thank you! You are TOPS!

It was a beautiful day. It was a lot of fun. There were great prizes, and it was wonderful spending time with our swim family, off the deck.

WEBSITE UPDATES
We have added a* COLLEGE* tab, and we will be posting relevant information, for our HS swimmers, who are contemplating swimming in college. We hope to have articles, and links posted, this week. We will also alert you of additions via our Weekly Announcements.

METHACTON MEET – IF UNABLE TO ATTEND, PLEASE EMAIL THE COACHES (topsswimming@gmail.com) by OCTOBER 27TH.

SAL INVITATIONALS
An email was sent with the updated meet information for the Pennridge Time Trial Invitational. We know that for the 11 and older swimmers, you will see that you committed to Session #1. We have contacted the meet director to ask if a new meet file is needed. If not, we will work off the information you provided.

SAL OFFICIALS CLINIC
This week, there is one SAL Officiating Clinic.
LOCATION: COUNCIL ROCK HIGH SCHOOL, 62 SWAMP ROAD, NEWTOWN, PA 18940 – Rm. 124E
TIME: 7 P.M.

USA SWIMMING
REMINDER: TOPS USA SWIMMERS WHO ARE 17 AND OLDER- If you will be swimming in the upcoming Blue Eagle meet, you must take the online Athlete Protection Online Class. Not only will Blue Eagle be checking you USA membership, but they will be checking that you took this online class. This is especially pressing for our existing 18 yr. old. It will be very unfortunate if you came to the meet and were not permitted to swim because this requirement is not fulfilled. Sadly, there is nothing your coaches can do for you if you do not take the necessary steps to complete this task.

FYI…You must allow at least 24 hrs. for the results of your online class to appear on your Deck Pass.

We did contact the meet director, about the discrepancy, but have failed to hear back from him. With that said, we will still attempt to enter those who have a time discrepancy. We will keep you abreast on the developments. For those who do not yet have a time standard, we will send an updated file, with new entries.

GRA MEET – Many of you have already committed to this meet, and we thank you for being on top of this. Today, the meet opens for entries, therefore, we want to make sure we get our entries in so that we can secure a place in this meet.
